Renáta Tímea Tolvai, known professionally as Reni Tolvai (born 24 March 1991, Oradea, Romania) is a Romanian singer of Hungarian origin, dancer and model, who won the 5th Megasztár-Hungarian Pop Idol in 2010. She is famous for her style, her beautiful voice and her Hungarian pronunciation.

Early life

Born to an ethnic Hungarian family in Oradea, Tolvai started singing when she was two years old. She attended the Modern Music Professional in the Francisc Hubic Art School in her native city. She then studied at the city's Emanuil Gojdu High School, graduating in 2011. Her favourite singer and idol was Aretha Franklin.

Music career

She performed on the Euroregion Song Contest, where she won first prize. She sang at the Mamaia Festival in 2009, coming in second. She then won the Hungarian Megasztár in 2010, consequently winning Hungarian Voice of the Year. Her first solo song, Hagylak menni, appeared with a music video in the summer of 2011, on the 8th August.

She sang the Hungarian song voice of Jewel in a computer-animated musical comedy, called Rio.

Personal life

Her boyfriend is András Kállay-Saunders, who is an American-born Hungarian singer. Both are involved in the Megasztár, and also sang a duett in the show.
